board. Brainstorm at least five new-ending ideas. Write each
idea on a slip of paper.

write a new ending based on the idea on their slip of paper.

Discuss possible vocabulary for the new-ending story. Focus
on adjectives and adverbs. (See chart)

Have each group write a new ending for the story. Remind the
students to use their vocabulary chart as they are writing.

When the students have finished writing, have the groups
illustrate their new ending on butcher paper or poster board.
Have the students choose one representative from their group
to present the story to the class as a whole. |
