Using "what if" questions, help the students brainstorm different endings to The Ugly Duckling.

Have pairs of students work together to brainstorm and write their own new ending to the story. Have each pair of student role-play their different ending in front of the class, or have each pair create a comic book version of The Ugly Duckling with their different ending.
