Write 15 adjectives from the Ugly Duckling story on the board.
Group the adjectives into categories - emotions, colors, sensations,
etc.
Divide the class into collaborative learning groups. Give each
group a two-line story starter. Tell the students to work together
to create a new story that uses at least ten of the vocabulary words
on the chalkboard.
When all the groups have finished, get everyone into a circle and
have each group present its story to the class.
